Sophomore Daniel Pietsch became just the second Emory Men s Outdoor National Championship ever on Saturday at the 2016 NCAA Division III Championships at Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. Pietsch came-from-behind on the final stretch of the race to edge out Monmouth (Ill.) s James Wilson by just .05 second to win the National Championship. Pietsch posted a school-record time of 46.92 in the event. The Kula, HI native is just the second ever Emory male athlete to be crowned an outdoor national champion, joining Troy Thompson who won the Triple Jump in 1995.
